Biography
Russell is a musician/singer/song writer based in Sheffield, UK
Born in the north of England, Russell grew up with a passion for music after watching his mum sing in clubs across the UK, replicating singers such as Shirley Bassey and Whitney Houston. An appreciation of musicians who have an ability to share their deepest feelings openly in their music laying themselves bare and an influence of jazz, soul, funk, Latin, blues, rock and pop all play a part in his continuing musical journey.
Russell began playing guitar and singing at the age of 16, at the age of 20 he was busking across Australia and New Zealand bringing people together in backpackers through music. In 2017 Russell taught himself how to play drums and began to start writing songs that combine different styles and subjects in a poetic style.
Russell's first single 'Fireflies' was released in December 2020 and his new single 'Turbulent Skies' was released in January 2021.
